Survey – Interactions between owners and dogs and its relationship with dog behaviour

Posted on 12 January 2021 Posted in General news, HWVA News

The Kennel Club would like to bring your attention to a new study from academics at the University of Lincoln.

Professor Daniel Mills and Dr. Luciana de Assis are seeking to research the relationship between dogs and their owners, with a particular focus on the ways in which breed affects owner behaviour.

The anonymous survey, which takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, will explore whether owners treat dogs differently according to their breed or whether dog behaviour and personality is more influenced by its breed and type. Questions will ask owners for details of their relationship with their dog/s, with previous respondents finding this an insightful opportunity to learn more about the way they behave around their pet.

The survey will be managed and results collected by The University of Lincoln. To assist the academics, survey respondents must be over the age of 18 and have lived with their dog for more than one month. To participate, please click below.
